It’s been over a year since Swatch and Blancpain welcomed a new reference to their Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms series. Back and bolder than ever, the duo has unearthed a brand new iteration in a surprising colorway. Doused in various shades of pink, the Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms comes with a rather fitting name: PINK OCEAN.
Arriving in the same dimensions as its predecessors, the PINK OCEAN watch boasts a case diameter of 42.3mm and is fitted with a sun-brushed, gradient dial. Its hands, indices along the 60 minutes diving scale are all coated in Grade A Super-LumiNova®, offering distinguished readability in the dark.
The watch showcases the SISTEM51 mechanical movement through a transparent sapphire glass caseback, which comes with five inspirational inscriptions: PASSION FOR DIVING, LICENCE TO EXPLORE, OCEAN BREATH, PROTECT WHAT YOU LOVE and IMMERSE YOURSELF — celebrating the spirit of exploration. Imprinted on caseback glass is a full-color digital depiction of the Ceratodoris rosacea, a species of dorid nudibranchs known for its vibrant pink hue.
Living up to the Fifty Fathoms name, PINK OCEAN, like its various counterparts from the collection is capable of withstanding up to 9 ATM underwater. In a nod to sustainability, the watch’s two-piece NATO-style strap is crafted from recycled fishing nets.
Retailing at $400 USD, the Swatch x Blancpain Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms PINK OCEAN will be available via select Swatch stores starting February 1. Head over to Swatch’s official website for the full list of participating stores.
