CNCPTS and Burton go way back, now doing business together for nearly three decades. For the first time in the duo’s thirty-year history, they are officially linking up on lineup of snowboards and apparel that aim to achieve “what CNCPTS did for skate with Burton in snow.”
Snowboards draw from some of CNCPTS’ most coveted skate footwear releases, landing in three iterations entitled “When Pigs Fly,” “Ugly Sweater” and “Holy Grail.” Each board is individually numbered and features additional archival graphics and motifs as well as hidden details and easter eggs.
Longtime snowboarder and collaborator of both Burton and CNCPTS separately, Todd Bratrud led the charge on the graphics, paying homage to imagery from the 1990s and early 2000s across a lineup of 18 garments and accessories.
“We have skateboard culture to thank for CNCPTS’ relationship with Burton, so when we approached this project we wanted to incorporate aspects of both into the product,” said CNCPTS Creative Director Deon Point. “We have the utmost respect for everything Todd has given to the world of skate. While the footwear iterations allowed us to get creative there’s only so far you can take it with materials and execution. Todd’s artwork took the inspiration behind each project to new heights.”
