Hennessey, renowned for its hypercars and high-performance vehicles, has announced the launch of its first light strike-force vehicle, the WARHAWK, under its newly formed Hennessey Defense Systems (HDS) division.
Primarily designed for the military and police, the WARHAWK is built on the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon platform, it boasts a lighter, faster design optimized for Special Operations and SWAT team missions. HDS enhances the vehicle with modular features, allowing customization of the bed to carry supplies, weaponry, or medical equipment. Additional upgrades include armored drivetrain shielding, off-road run-flat tires, mounting points for weapon systems and a blackout function for stealth operations. The fuel system can be adapted to run on diesel or kerosene-based fuels, further enhancing battlefield versatility.
“The WARHAWK is inspired by the needs of experienced warfighters seeking a fast, reliable, and versatile first-strike vehicle for harsh environments,” said John Hennessey, founder and CEO, adding “We’re proud to bring our decades of expertise in high-performance vehicles to the defense sector.”
The factory-spec 3.6L V6 engine delivers 285 hp, with a 1,200-pound payload and 4,500-pound towing capacity. Hennessey Defense Systems aims to meet the demands of defense, emergency services and private sectors with the WARHAWK’s robust and adaptable design.
Hennessey’s expansion into defense reflects its growing portfolio, which includes the VelociRaptor, Mammoth 6×6 and Venom F5 hypercar. Interested buyers can learn more about the WARHAWK and new HDS division via the brand’s official site.
