Tiffany & Co. is excited to announce a creative collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Oscar Wang in celebration of the Lunar New Year. This partnership brings together Tiffany’s iconic elements and Wang’s unique design language to create a distinct motif and limited-edition gifting objects that are both modern and culturally resonant.
Wang drew inspiration from the craft of ceramics to develop the collaboration’s signature motif. By combining the symbology of the snake and the infinite loops of the figure-eight knot, he crafted a visual identity that resonates with contemporary sensibilities. The central motif features a heart-shaped infinity sign with serpentine curves, paying homage to Tiffany’s famed Open Heart design which champions the spirit of love. This mirrored pattern represents two hearts coming together, forming a figure of eight — a number that symbolizes wealth and fortune in Chinese culture.
The centerpiece of this collaboration is a jewelry case that doubles as a sculptural rendition of the motif. Crafted from Blanc de Chine – the historic white porcelain from Dehua, Fujian – the case is doused in a Tiffany blue ceramic glaze, adorned with a Chinese knot that symbolizes luck and unity. In addition to that, the collaboration also highlights a free-standing ceramic holder, which allows jewelry to be displayed, hanging suspended on the framework of the heart-shaped infinity sign.
The collaboration also includes special Lunar New Year packaging that Wang has specifically designed for Tiffany. The Maison’s signature jewelry box and shopping bags are reimagined with gold ribbons and handles in a shimmery finish. Emblazoned on the bags are heart-shaped serpent-pattened embossings that form an infinity symbol-esque shape. Hanging from the handle is Wang’s modernized take on traditional Chinese charms, which reiterates the heart-like loop motif in a vivid red complete with tonal tassels.
