A cat’s way of taking the phrase about the “cat that got the cream” a little too seriously has delighted viewers online.
The black cat, Miso, was filmed licking a tub of dairy cream by their owner, who shared the clip to TikTok under @suxxxanne on November 11, 2024. The comical moment, which saw Miso fighting hard to hold onto the plastic tub and its lid after totally emptying it, has been viewed more than 141,000 times and has been liked by over 20,000 viewers.
Viewers could see the male feline cleaning out the tub of single cream, which had been purchased from the British retailer Tesco. The video then transitioned to a hilarious clip of Miso employing all his strength to retain the plastic lid tugged from his mouth by his concerned owner. The feline was also heard huffing in frustration after his owner decided to intervene.
The pair appear to be based in the United Kingdom.

Cats can indeed eat cream in small amounts, but it is not ideal for their diet. While cream is not toxic to cats, many adult cats are lactose intolerant, meaning their digestive systems cannot properly process the lactose in dairy products.
Consuming cream might cause digestive upset, including diarrhea or stomach discomfort, and pet owners are advised to consult a veterinarian before introducing dairy products into their cats’ diets.
Since it was shared on the platform in November, the post has garnered more than 100 amused comments from viewers on TikTok. Several have pointed out how their own pets behave similarly when around certain foods.
“Acting like the cat that got the cream,” one viewer said.
Another person commented: “It is their emotional support single cream container.”
“Dread to see [his] emotional state without it,” Miso’s owner responded.
“Is this a black cat thing, my cat does the same thing,” one viewer said.
“Literally, ‘the cat that got the cream’ and growled about the human intervention,” a commenter wrote.
Another added: “Had to put a child lock on my fridge as was sick and tired of wrestling blocks of cheese off my black cat.”
