Porsche Singapore has partnered with artist Red Hong Yi to present The Red Thread: Past, Present, Future, a nine-meter (30-foot) long installation debuting at ART SG 2025. As the official automotive partner of Southeast Asia’s largest art fair, Porsche continues its tradition of blending art and innovation, celebrating Singapore’s 60th birthday with this latest commission.
The artwork, inspired by 60 shades of red from Porsche‘s Paint-to-Sample catalog, features hues like the vintage Peru Red, classic Guards Red and modern Carmine Red. These colors symbolize Porsche’s legacy of craftsmanship while paying tribute to Singapore’s six decades of independence. Flanked by mirrors, the installation creates an infinite visual effect, inviting viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness of time, identity and legacy. A subtle fly line of the iconic Porsche 911 is embedded in the piece, emphasizing timeless design and evolution.
Red Hong Yi, known for her innovative use of everyday materials, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration: “Together with Porsche, we’ve created an artwork that speaks to the essence of time – how our past shapes our present and inspires our future.”
Visitors to ART SG at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre from January 17–19, 2025, can experience the installation. Complementary events at Porsche Studio Singapore this weekend included the unveiling of a one-of-a-kind 911 Dakar art car by automotive artist Chris Dunlop and a panel discussion featuring both artists.
“This partnership with Red Hong Yi highlights our dedication to creativity and progress while honoring tradition,” said Yannick Ott, Marketing Director of Porsche Asia Pacific.
