B:MING by BEAMS, one of the Japanese company’s many brands, has come together with J.PRESS ORIGINALS to design a collaborative collection under a special hybrid name: J:P.
The clothing line’s inaugural collection starts with a balanced capsule of preppy essentials, reflecting the brands’ shared appreciation for 20th-century menswear. Led by a range of elegantly tailored staples and accompanied by a range of branded basics, J:P occupies an easy cross-section between contemporary casual and collegiate prep.
J.PRESS’s signature navy and black blazers are reinterpreted with a Japanese sensibility, constructed in a loose, airy fit. The 3-button navy jacket boasts a special detail with golden buttons embossed with the BEAMS sphere emblem. In trousers, a formal silhouette similar to BEAMS PLUS’s classic 2 pleat pants is offered in tan and black.
Long-sleeve shirting is offered in plain white and blue pinstripes–both featuring faded J.PRESS graphics near the bottom of the placket. In the lookbook, these styles are worn under jersey sweatshirts printed with a large J:P logo on the front. Finally, the collection is rounded out with oversized logo tees and caps in various neutral colors.
J:P by J.PRESS ORIGINALS and B:MING by BEAMS is available today at Japanese stores that carry the B:MING by BEAMS label.
