Carry-On wasn’t just dominating Netflix in the week leading up to Christmas. The Christmas airport thriller topped all of streaming in the U.S. from December 16 to 22, according to Nielsen.

In its first full week on the streamer, Carry-On managed 1.92B viewing minutes, which is the second-best weekly performance for a Netflix movie in 2024, behind Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. That Eddie Murphy comedy surpassed 2B viewing minutes in one week in July.

Red One also maintained a spot in the Top 5, down from first place overall the week prior. It put up another 1.7B viewing minutes on Prime Video.

Netflix rounded out the Top 5 with Virgin River and La Palma, while Disney+ got its usual representation with Bluey putting up another billion minutes.

The Netflix effect was also on full display during this interval after The Equalizer rose to No. 6 on the overall list with 873M viewing minutes. Though the series was already available on Paramount+, the first three seasons landed on Netflix in December 16, surely helping boost its audience.

Speaking of Paramount+, Landman continued to rake in some impressive viewership with 872M viewing minutes across its seven available episodes. The first season came to an explosive end in January, so expect to see viewership for this title keep rising in anticipation of the finale.

Tyler Perry’s latest film Six Triple Eight also had a strong performance during this interval, coming in at No. 8 with 867M viewing minutes.
