I can’t thank Alyssa Farah Griffin enough for introducing Bravo-related Hot Topics segments to The View. On this morning’s episode of the long-running daytime talk show, the ladies broke down that wild Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5 finale — and, much like the stars on the reality show, Griffin even admitted to “venting” about some of her fellow co-hosts.
During the finale, star Heather Gay suggested that everyone read the meanest text they had ever sent about someone else in the group aloud. The exercise was meant to bury the past so they could clear the air and move forward — but things took an unsurprising turn for the worse when Lisa Barlow didn’t like what Whitney Rose had written about her.
After watching a clip from the episode, The View co-host Sara Haines wondered how any of the women would “get past” the messages they wrote about each other.
Griffin, a Bravo superfan, called the scene “Mean Girls on steroids.” But since she was clearly the only one at the table who knew how these shows work, she rightfully added, “Andy Cohen deserves all of the awards for this show. It is perfection.”
The former White House staffer, who sometimes spars with her co-hosts over politics, seemed more shocked that the women would put their harsh words in writing. After all, that’s not how she vents when she gets annoyed with her co-workers!
“We’ve all, I’m sure, had frustrations with each other that, I’m sure, I’ve vented to [executive producer Brian Teta] about some of you,” she said. “I wouldn’t commit it to writing so that it can be brought up at a later date. Because that’s what you’re saying when you feel it then you move on with your life.”
Oh, to be a fly on the way when Griffin has meetings with Teta!
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
