Squid Game 2 has officially amassed over 152.5 million total views, making it the third most-watched season on Netflix ever. The series only falls behind the black comedy, thriller Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega and the first season of Squid Game. Wednesday garnered 252 million views while the first Squid Game recorded 265 million.
Just four days after the second season’s premiere, the show hit 68 million views in four days, making it the streamer’s biggest TV debut ever. Just a week later, it reached 126.2 million views just under two weeks, spending another week sitting atop the non-Englis TV top 10 list. Fans went back to watch the first season, causing Season 1 to resurface at the No. 3 spot.
The series starring Lee Jung-Jae now has two of Netflix’s top spots. This week, Netflix announced that the show is still dominating at the charts as the most-watched title of the week with 26.3 million views. The video game adaptation, Squid Game: Unleashed, has also ascended to the No. 1 spot on the App Store charts across 107 countries. The series is expected to end after season three, though the franchise will continue. Netflix has teased that they “plan” to extend the franchise, but has yet to confirm what that means.
