Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are prioritizing their parenting amid their separation.

The estranged couple have “already figured out a new schedule for” daughter Maxwell, 12, son Ace, 11, and daughter Birdie, 5, a source told People Tuesday.

“The kids will always come first,” the insider continued. “They are co-parenting.”

The outlet also reported that Simpson, 44, and the retired NFL player, 45, are “both great parents,” noting that the “Irresistible” singer is “grateful” for the little ones during this transition.

The source added, “Jess is doing OK.”

The actress revealed on Monday that she and Johnson had called it quits and were living apart after months of split rumors.

“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” she wrote in a statement. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them.

“We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family,” Simpson continued.

Page Six reported Tuesday that the pair’s “trust issues … created a wedge between them” and led to their breakup.

“They were no longer on the same page,” an insider told us. “Jess thought it would help if they spent some time apart, but it only made her realize she enjoyed her independence.”

The source claimed that the fashion designer is “handling the separation well, all things considered,” despite experiencing “both good and bad days.”

Simpson and Johnson, notably, are already selling their $18 million home in Hidden Hills, Calif.

The duo began dating in 2010, going on to welcome Maxwell and Ace in 2012 and 2013, respectively, before tying the knot in 2014.

Birdie joined the family in 2019.

Simpson was previously married to “Newlyweds” co-star Nick Lachey from 2004 to 2006, while Johnson divorced stylist Keri D’Angelo in 2010.
