Brooke Shields reveals offensive question 2 male doctors asked after her grand mal seizure

Brooke Shields was asked an insulting question by two male doctors after she suffered a grand mal seizure in 2023.

The actress opened up to “Good Morning America” viewers on Monday about the experience while encouraging women to learn to “self-advocate.”

The model, 59, recalled, “I had a seizure not too long ago and the two male doctors said, ‘Are you restricting yourself for dietary reasons?’ … You wouldn’t say that to a man.”

At the time, Shields replied, “No. I’m a 59-year-old woman who looks younger bloated. Give me some potato chips!”

In 2023, the “Pretty Baby” star revealed she had suffered a seizure while preparing for a one-woman show at The Carlyle in New York City.

She explained in an interview with Glamour that her sodium had tanked after drinking too much water for an extended period of time and that “Bradley f–king Cooper” was holding her hand on the ambulance ride.

Shields explained Monday that she addressed her doctors’ queries in her new memoir, “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman.”

She noted that change won’t occur by “yell[ing] louder” about such offensive statements.

Shields said, “We just have to be secure in what we believe and to be heard because we’re not going to get anywhere by just screaming.”

Last week, Shields spoke to Us Weekly about another doctor who treated her unfairly — this one, a male plastic surgeon who did her labia surgery.

After the procedure, he “proudly” told the “Suddenly Susan” alum that she had received a “little bonus” while under the knife.

The doctor gave Shields a vaginal rejuvenation, which NIH defines as “decreas[ing] the average diameter of the vagina, mainly for sexual reasons.”

The Golden Globe nominee — who is the mother of daughters Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18 — compared this “irreversible invasion” to “a rape of some kind.”

“Nothing pointed toward this need to be tighter or smaller or firmer or younger, especially there,” she told the outlet.

“Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman” hit bookshelves on Tuesday.
