Katie Holmes knows a comfy (but still stylish) shoe when she sees it.
As a longtime New Yorker who famously rides the subway like the rest of us, the actress is used to logging lots of steps each day — particularly right now, as she’s appearing in “Our Town” on Broadway.
As for what’s on her feet as she rushes around wintry Manhattan? Lately, Holmes has been reaching for her Autry Medalist Low-Top Sneakers on repeat; we’re talking at least three times in the past week alone.
Founded in 1982 by Jim Autry in Dallas, Texas, the brand’s experienced a serious revival recently, with its American flag-accented kicks popping up on stars like Reese Witherspoon, Jennie Kim and Lisa.
But Holmes is arguably Autry’s biggest famous fan right now, having styled her Medalists with baggy denim, chunky sweaters, cozy coats and knit beanies while running around NYC.
Available in a range of colors, the classic leather Medalist comes perched on a retro yellowed sole — and shoppers rave about the shoe’s comfort, with many recommending that you size up for the best fit.
“These shoes are absolute perfection. Stylish, so comfortable I never want to take them off, and high quality,” one raved on Nordstrom’s site.
“You can dress them up or down. They have a nice retro style and are so comfy to wear,” another added. “You can wear jeans as well as a skirt or dress. I wore them with everything and received many compliments.”
A third even called them “the most comfy and cute sneaks ever!”
