Angelina Jolie and her son Knox are joining the fight against wildfire destruction in Los Angeles, but they’re starting small.
On Thursday, January 9, The Daily Mail spotted the 49-year-old Maria actress with her 16-year-old son at a grocery store in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles buying water and other essential supplies.
When asked if she planned to donate to the victims of the fires, the Maleficent star explained that she does plan to do so, and that she is currently hosting people who’d been evacuated at her home.
“Yeah, I will [donate],” she told the outlet. “Right now I’m taking care of people close to me and having them at my house.” Jolie resides in a $25 million mansion in Los Feliz, which as of yet has not been majorly impacted by the fires.
The actress, whose divorce from Brad Pitt was finalized on January 3 after eight years of separation, wore all black to run her errands, while Knox wore a grey T-shirt and shorts.
Knox and his twin sister, Vivienne, are the youngest of the six children shared between Jolie and Pitt, 61. The former Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-stars have one other biological daughter, Shiloh, who recently dropped the “Pitt” from her surname upon turning 18. The older siblings, who were all adopted, are Maddox, 23, Zahara, 20, and Pax, 21. Pax has also had an eventful few months after an e-bike accident sent him to the hospital. Pax has made a full recovery, however, and even joined his mother on the red carpet in September.
As the fires continue to rage across Los Angeles County, several celebrities have started to offer help to people displaced by the natural disaster. Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest donated $1 million to the relief effort on Thursday, January 8. Actors Halle Berry and Sharon Stone have donated clothes to those who lost their possessions, according to Forbes.
