Denim Tears has officially kicked off the year with a new winter collection. Taking to Instagram to reveal the new drop, featuring a campaign starring Detroit rapper Veeze.
The Tremaine Emory founded brand first revealed the new collection with a video of Veeze freestyling in some of the pieces from this season. Veeze can be seen rapping in a flaming orange sweatsuit set featuring burning $100 USD dollar bills as the graphic. He also wore a matching beanie and paired the fit with a white long-sleeve shirt featuring an all-over print of the “Denim Tears” moniker in the shape of the American flag on the front.
The collection is coded with American motifs, drawing inspiration from the star-spangled banner as well as modern fashion tropes. From tracksuits to sweatsuits to oversized denim bomber hoodies and camo prints, the collection is a nod to what Emory defines as the African Diaspora. Continuing to take Emory’s African American vision and approaching Denim Tears with his own interpretation of heritage and design, the collection arrives this week on January 10 online and in-store at the African Diaspora Goods spot on Spring Street in New York.
