Few are so strongly associated with Southern California like Pamela Anderson, but the Canadian-born actress won’t get her time in spotlight tonight due to the fires and high winds battering LA

This evening’s premiere of the Anderson starring The Last Showgirl at the Chinese Theatre has been cancelled, we hear. With the former Baywatch actress’ performance receiving wide acclaim, the Gia Coppola directed film is set to be release nationwide by Roadside Attraction this Friday, January 10.

The plug being pulled on The Last Showgirl’s Hollywood Blvd debut joins several other industry openings and events like the red carpet premiere of TV series The Pitt at the Pacific Design Centerand the Better Man premiere at Paramount tonight. The Noah Wylie medical drama from Warner Bros TV will still launch on streamer MAX onJanuary 9 Nominated at this past weekend’s Golden Globes like The Last Showgirl, the simian themed Robbie Williams biopic from director Michael Gracey was released wide on Christmas Day.

With blazes devastating Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Hurst Pasadena and now parts of Malibu starting early January 7, fire fighters and others have been working through the night to try to gain control of the massive and growing disaster. Tens of thousands of acres have been scorched, with LAPD Chief revealing this morning in a press conference that this many fires simultaneously is more than authorities anticipated with the powerful Santa Ana winds this week.
