What To Know
Winter storm warnings are currently in effect for New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. Advisories are in effect for Vermont, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming and Alaska.
Ohio School Closings For Snowstorm
Closures have been announced by dozens of school districts in Ohio, including Cincinnati Public Schools.
Kentucky School Closings For Snowstorm
Schools in Anderson, Breathitt, Clark, Elliott, Estill, Floyd, Franklin, Harrison, Jessamine, Johnson, Knott, Lee, Magoffin, Mercer, Powell and Rockcastle counties will be closed on Tuesday. Fayette County Schools, Morgan County Schools and Wolfe County Schools will be closed through Wednesday.
Schools in Bath, Bourbon, Boyd, Boyle, Carter, Fleming, Garrard, Lincoln, Montgomery, Nicholas, Perry, Robertson, Rowan, Scott, Washington and Wayne counties will operate on a virtual instruction schedule.
Several private schools and universities in the state announced closures and virtual instruction days as well.
West Virginia School Closings For Snowstorm
Public schools will be closed in nearly 40 of West Virginia’s 55 counties. A full list of school closures is available on the West Virginia Department of Education’s website.
Schools in Clay, Lincoln, Mingo and Pocahontas will be operating on a virtual instruction schedule.
Pennsylvania School Closings For Snowstorm
Laurel Highlands School District will be operating on a virtual instruction schedule. Multiple school districts will be operating on a delayed opening schedule, according to Pittsburgh news station WTAE.
Maryland School Closings for Snowstorm
Montgomery County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday.
Virginia School Closings for Snowstorm
Schools in Arlington, Falls Church City, Fairfax County, Fauquier County, Loudoun County and Stafford County will be closed on Tuesday. Culpeper County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday as well.
