Ahead of Nikki Glaser hosting the 2025 Golden Globes, Newsweek has rounded up everything you need to know about the comedian and her boyfriend, Chris Convy.
Newsweek reached out to a spokesperson for Glaser via email for comment.
Who Is Nikki Glaser?
Glaser is a stand-up comedian, actor and TV personality. She starred in the 2022 reality show Welcome Home Nikki Glaser? and has hosted the reality TV dating shows Blind Date, FBoy Island and Lovers and Liars. She also competed in a season of Dancing with the Stars and The Masked Singer.
In addition to television, she has appeared in Amy Schumer’s movies Trainwreck and I Feel Pretty.
In August, Glaser was named the host of the 82nd Golden Globes Awards, and she gave an insight into what to expect in a statement.
“The Golden Globes is not only a huge night for TV and film but also for comedy. It’s one of the few times that show business not only allows but encourages itself to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so). (God I hope so.)” she wrote.
“It’s one of my favorite nights of television and now I get a front row seat (actually, I think I have to host from the stage). It’s an exciting, yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars (who also might be getting wasted while seated next to their recent exes).”
She continued: “Some of my favorite jokes of all time have come from past Golden Globes opening monologues when Tina [Fey], Amy [Poehler] or Ricky [Gervais] have said exactly what we all didn’t know we desperately needed to hear.
“I just hope to continue in that time-honored tradition (that might also get me canceled). This is truly a dream job. Plus, I no longer have to feel guilty for every TV show and movie I’ve binged over the past year. It was all worth it. (Below Deck: Sailing Yacht Season Four will be nominated, right?)”
Chris Convy: What We Know
Glaser is dating producer Chris Convy. He has worked on a variety of different projects, including award shows like the MTV Video Music Awards, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
He has produced TV specials such as The Little Mermaid Live! and Adam Sandler: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. He also produced Glaser’s stand-up specials Nikki Glaser: Someday You’ll Die and Not Safe with Nikki Glaser.
While he generally stays out of the spotlight, his relationship with Glaser has brought some attention to his personal life.
How Did Nikki Glaser and Chris Convy Meet?
The duo first crossed paths in 2013 while working together on the MTV late-night talk show Nikki & Sara Live. Glaser co-hosted the show alongside Sara Schaefer, while Convy was a producer.
“We met in New York, I had a show on MTV, it was my first TV show,” Glaser said in an interview with Graham Bensinger in October 2022. “He was a producer on the show, and he was from St. Louis, where I was from.”
She added: “I just had a crush from afar, which was so fun because I was just pining for him constantly. It was very Jim and Pam [from The Office]. I was Jim, and he had no idea.”
During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in May 2024, she said the idea of committing felt like “settling.” She revealed that she and Convy had split upwards of five times over the past decade.
“I think the off and on is because committing to anything forever, I think that forever makes me think of no other adventures,” she said. “It’s kind of admitting defeat; it’s settled.”
Glaser explained that one of the reasons they previously broke up was that she would share issues she had with the relationship on the podcast instead of speaking to Convy.
She said: “Not because I thought he won’t hear them, but they would just came out naturally under the guise of ‘it’s comedy!’ He eventually heard them and go, ‘I don’t recognize who this person is.’”
The couple has worked on their issues, and when Stern asked if Glaser was in love, she said, “Oh yeah.”
