The first batch of monthly PlayStation Plus games for 2025 has been revealed, and it includes one of 2024’s biggest flops. Rocksteady Studios’ triple-A superhero shooter Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is becoming free for all PS Plus subscribers next week, less than twelve months after it was released.
The free monthly games for PS Plus in January 2025 include:
- Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (PS5)
- Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered (PS4)
- The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe (PS4, PS5)
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was released in February 2024 for PC and consoles to poor reviews from critics and players. On PC, barely fourteen thousand players checked it out at its peak, which was dire given that it was designed as a live service game.
Following its release, Rocksteady supported it with four seasons worth of content, each focusing on a new playable anti-hero. These include the Joker, Mr. Freeze, Lawless, and Deathstroke. The final season also added an offline mode to the game.

This isn’t the first time Suicide Squad went free for gamers. Back in July last year, Prime Gaming subscribers could claim the game for free with an Epic Games account. Sure, PlayStation owners aren’t technically getting it for free given they need to subscribe to PS Plus Essential at the very least, but it’s close enough.
As for the other games, they fared better than Suicide Squad. NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered is an enhanced version of the 2010 racing game. It includes all previously released DLC and cross-platform multiplayer. The other monthly PS Plus game is The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, an expanded version of the original classic with new content, upgraded visuals, and accessibility features.
All three games will be available to download for PS Plus members from January 7, 2025, to February 3, 2025.
