Cordae recently opened up about the breakup of the YBN crew, telling YouTuber Peaks100 that bad business an argument caused his, Nahmir and Almighty Jay‘s disbandment.

“Name one group that stayed together. I mean bro, we never recorded a song with all three of us,” he said. “The business side of it was kind of like, super f*cked up, honestly.” Cordae continued, “N****s got into a big argument in Europe. People say certain things they can’t take back. It’s still love, but it’s just some sh*t that you just can’t take.”

Despite YBN’s breakup, Cordae confirmed that their trio is still on good terms, “Nahmir, that’s still my homie. Jay, I still fuck with bruh. Nahmir threw n****s that [alley] oop so I’m very grateful.”

Back in 2021, Almighty Jay accused their former manager, James McMillan, of bad business practices. He stated on Instagram that McMillan signed them to “janky deals,” trademarked the YBN name behind their backs, exploited the group while they were young and assigned him a lawyer that McMillan was previously engaged to without disclosing the fact. “If y’all really wanna know why YBN broke up,” he wrote. Both Nahmir and Cordae liked the post, appearing to agree with his claims.
