Weber has announced an exciting collaboration with I Like Movies, the debut feature film by acclaimed Canadian director Chandler Levack.
Bringing back nostalgic memories of Y2K, the collection is a nod to simpler times. The capsule channels the aesthetic found in the 2022 filmI Like Movies which is a Canadian coming-of-age comedy-drama set in 2003, during the golden era of rental DVDs. The movie is widely considered” one of the best Canadian comedies of all time,” and as a part of the collection’s roll out, the film is premiering at Shinjuku Cinema Qualite and other theaters across Japan on December 27, the same day as the capsule drop.
In honor of the film, Weber – a brand renowned for its passion for cinema – has crafted a unique apparel collection inspired by I Like Movies. The collection features Weber’s signature Coach Jackets and T-shirts, along with their debut Cap designs. Each piece is adorned with bold visuals of the film’s protagonist, Lawrence, and the movie’s title, “I Like Movies,” rendered in eye-catching prints and embroidery. The wardrobe staples also touch on the signature 2000s fit, providing box-cut coach jackets and tees. The campaign imagery takes fans back to the times of rental DVDs and chunky TVs, setting the tone for Blockbuster era.
The collection will be available for pre-order on Weber’s online store starting December 27, coinciding with the movie’s nationwide release in Japan.
