Of course we all love Sabrina Carpenter the pop star, but today we’re here to talk about the Sabrina Carpenter movies and TV shows you may (or may not) have missed. Surprise, surprise, but the “Taste” singer actually has a pretty lengthy acting resumé in addition to her current music stardom. For example, did you know that Carpenter guest starred in an episode of Law & Order: SVU back in 2011? Yeah, me neither.
But SVU was just the beginning. Since then, Carpenter had a guest spot in an episode of Orange Is the New Black, while also lending her voice to popular cartoons like Phinneas and Ferb, Milo Murphy’s Law, and the Disney Junior show Sofia the First.
But here are all of the Sabrina Carpenter movies and TV shows where she had a starring role.
Adventures in Babysitting (2016)
Carpenter’s first big acting break came with the 2016 reboot of the 1987 movie, Adventures in Babysitting, on Disney+. Carpenter starred as one of the two titular babysitters who take on the big city in search of a missing kid.
Girl Meets World (2014-2017)
Back before she was a household name herself, Sabrina Carpenter starred in the reboot of a ‘90s kid classic, Boy Meets World. In Girl Meets World, Carpenter played Maya, the best friend of Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley (Rowan Blanchard).
The Hate U Give (2018)
In this teen drama, Carpenter plays a prep school classmate of Black student Starr (Amandla Stenberg), who witnesses a cop shoot and kill her unarmed friend after a routine traffic stop.
The Short History of the Long Road (2019)
Carpenter also had starring roles, such as in this indie film that premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2019. Carpenter plays Nola, who grew up traveling the United States with her father in their broken down RV.
Tall Girl (2019)
The music videos alone should be enough to prove that Carpenter has true comedy chops, which were put on display in Netflix’s Tall Girl. Carpenter plays the short (she is famously 5″0) sister to the film’s titular tall teenage girl (Ava Michelle).
Work It (2020)
Sabrina Carpenter starred in another Netflix movie, Work It, a year later. This time, Carpenter leads the cast as the hard-working leader of her high school’s elite dance team.
Clouds (2020)
Once again, Carpenter plays the best friend in Clouds, which aired on Disney +. This time, she’s the bestie of a Minnesota teenager who decides to pursue his musical dreams while also dying of bone cancer.
Emergency (2022)
In Emergency, a comedy-drama about a night of partying gone wrong for several college students, Carpenter plays Maddy, who is looking for her missing sister, Emma, whose body had just been found in the house of three Black and brown students who had nothing to do with the apparent murder.
Tall Girl 2 (2022)
Carpenter returned for the Tall Girl sequel movie, Tall Girl 2, in 2022. In the second installment, Carpenter’s character Harper is trying to prove to her parents that she’s more than just a beauty queen.
