Yellowstone star Cole Hauser shared a photo from set, sparking several conspiracy theories from fans about what it could possibly mean for the rest of the show as the series’ future remains up in the air with the incoming Season 5 finale.
The heartwarming photo showed Hauser posing at the Yellowstone Ranch with Kelly Reilly, who plays his on-screen wife Beth Dutton, and their co-stars Ryan Bingham, Hassie Harrison, Forrie J Smith and others.
“Just found this picture of all of our last day together on set!” he wrote.
Fans flocked to the comments to lament that the hit Parmount series could very well be ending with this Sunday’s episode. But others suggested that Hauser’s photo shows which characters will still be alive after this season.
This has been a particularly bloody season of Yellowstone with the deaths of John Dutton (Kevin Costner), Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) and Colby (Denim Richards).
But one fan suggested that Hauser’s photo means the stars pictured will survive the rest of the season. “Now we know which characters don’t die,” they wrote.
Another fan noted that one star conspicuously missing from the photo is Wes Bentley, who plays Jamie Dutton.
“Beth is getting Jamie in the last episode for sure,” they wrote.
A lot of pressure is resting on this week’s episode, which could very well be the series finale. It would make sense that series creator Taylor Sheridan will want to end with some closure on the Dutton family drama if they really have no plans of continuing the series into another season.
But it looks like fans are still holding out hope for more episodes. Several comments on Hauser’s post noted that Yellowstone promotions describe this weekend’s episode as the “season finale” and not the “series finale.”
“What an amazing show. I hope that there is a Rip & Beth spin off as I really donât feel that their story is done,” one fan wrote, echoing a sentiment from many diehard Yellowstone fans in the comments.
Previous reports note that Hauser and Reilly were approached about leading the series after Costner left. But there has been no confirmation on whether or not the series will continue after Season 5.
Hauser has already expressed interest in returning â that is, if Sheridan will have them. âAs long as Taylor wants to write something special, I know Kelly and I would be interested to do it,” he recently told The Hollywood Reporter.
Yellowstone airs on Paramount Network Sundays at 8/7c.
