Friendship bracelets, cowboy boots, and screaming along to all the songs—it can only be Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour. And now, after almost two years, it’s come to an end. (We’re not crying, you’re crying.)
The singer closed out her epic tour with a final show in Vancouver, Canada on December 8, where she was visibly emotional and feeling particularly nostalgic and grateful. “It’s just crazy to think I’m going to sing the last song I ever sang in the Folklore cabin,” she said as she played “Cardigan.” “That’s wild. Oh my God!”
What did Taylor Swift announce at the Eras Tour?
While many fans were hoping Swift would make an exciting announcement for the final show—with some speculating that the tour might be extended, and others hoping for info about the long-awaited reputation (Taylor’s Version) album, that sadly didn’t come to pass.

However, Swift did announce that the Eras Tour had over 10 million attendees, making it the second most-attended concert tour of all time (Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour managed to keep the record). “We have toured the entire world, we’ve had so many adventures,” said Swift during the final show. “It’s been the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life.”
And although the Eras Tour didn’t break the record for the most attendees, it has become the highest-grossing tour in history, making over $2 billion. More than 10.1 million tickets were sold across the 149 shows, and it became the first tour in history to surpass $1 billion in ticket sales.

What happened at the final show of the Eras Tour?
It wouldn’t be a Taylor Swift concert without surprise songs, and the musician delivered in her own unique way. Not only did she do several mash-ups, she delighted fans with her signature lyric changes to add to the reflective nature of the night.
“I was thinking about it, because we’ve had so long to prepare for the end of this tour,” she told fans during the show. “I was trying to think about what songs encapsulate how I feel about tonight, so I decided to go back to the beginning.”

Travis Kelce was in the audience when she combined “The Prophecy” with “This Love.”
She kicked things off with a mash-up of “A Place in This World” from her very first album, Taylor Swift, and “New Romantics” from the 2014 album 1989.
Swift then took a seat at the piano and performed an emotional mash-up of three songs: “Long Live” from Speak Now, “New Year’s Day” from reputation, and “The Manuscript” from The Tortured Poets Department. To make things even more sentimental, during “Long Live,” she changed the lyrics from “it was the end of a decade” to “it was the end of an era.”
In the end, Swift’s final show was an homage to 18 years of music and her devoted fans. Her high-profile boyfriend, American football star Travis Kelce, was unable to make the show (as he was busy winning a game with his team). But Swift dedicated her signature final song—”Karma”—to Kelce, changing the lyrics to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” which she has done several times since they started dating last year.
“I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date,” Swift said as the concert came to an end. “My beloved Eras Tour.”
