Prime Video‘s deliriously fun fantasy series The Wheel of Time Season 3 finally has a 2025 release date and a brand new teaser trailer. Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins and stars Josha Stradowski and Madeleine Madden presented the thrilling minute-long trailer to thousands of fans at Brazil’s CCXP24. The trailer not only gives us our first glimpses of the legendary city of Rhuidean but also clues about how the Prime Video show will tackle the next installments in Robert Jordan’s epic fantasy series. Most importantly, however, The Wheel of Time Season 3 trailer confirms that the series will be back on Prime Video on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
The Wheel of Time follows Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), a humble farmer who discovers he’s actually the Dragon Reborn, the reincarnation of the most powerful man to ever live, destined to either save or destroy the world. Trying to guide him is Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a powerful member of the Aes Sedai, a sort of sisterhood of women with the power to manipulate reality by weaving threads of power. While Rand and his friends attempt to ready themselves to face the Dark One in the Last Battle, they are harried by the Forsaken, the Black Ajah, Darkfriends, trollocs, and even just people with their own rival beliefs and designs.
The new Wheel of Time trailer seemingly opens with Rand, Moiraine, and members of the Aiel arriving on the outskirts of Rhuidean, a sacred city that factors heavily into Rand’s fate. During the trailer, we hear Moiraine ominously say, “I have seen a thousand thousand futures. In every future where I lived, Rand dies. And the only way he lives, is if I don’t.” During this commentary, we see snippets of various characters from the story, living out different possible futures, including many in which Moiraine is locked in a bitter struggle with Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe).
Elsewhere in the trailer, we get glimpses of the return of Moghedien (Laia Costa), a member of the Forsaken we chillingly met in the final moments of Season 2. There’s a shot of Elayne (Ceara Convery) stoically crowning herself and even Perrin (Marcus Rutherford) in battle. There’s a kiss between Moiraine and her lover, Siuan Sanche (Sophie Okonedo), and even a split second first look at Perrin and a new love interest. The final shot of the trailer echoes the new series poster, with Rand carrying Moiraine through the desert landscape of the Aiel Waste. Moiraine cautions, “You cannot afford to fail again.”
The Wheel of Time Season 3 premieres on March 13, 2025, only on Prime Video.
