A viral TikTok video has left cat lovers everywhere in tears, as one owner shared a bittersweet realization about her furry friend’s daily routine.
Featuring British shorthair Bloo, the owner’s (@blooberrybaby) clip has a simple and touching message: pets patiently wait all day for their humans to come home and play with them.
The clip shows the kitten sitting on the owner’s bed, looking impossibly cute with her plush grey fur and its big eyes. The video’s text overlay reads: “This is your reminder that no matter how tired you are at the end of your day, your cat waits all day to spend time with you.”
The video that features the 11-month-old kitten has so far garnered over 1.6 million views and 279,000 likes since it was posted last Tuesday.
Newsweek contacted @blooberrybaby via email for comment. We could not verify details of the case.
TikTok Users React
“It should be illegal to be this cute,” one TikTok user wrote in the comments section.
Another user commented: “I don’t have a cat but I cried.”
Many of the hundreds who commented encouraged other cat owners to spend time with their furry friends before it’s too late.
“My cat passed away a week ago and every night I regret when I have time but decided to spend it alone in my room,” one TikTok user wrote.
Others joked that cats have a tendency to sleep all day and come alive at night wanting to play with their owners.
“They slept all day and now want attention at 10pm when I’m getting ready for bed,” one commented.
British Shorthairs
The clip of the British shorthair highlights a key aspect of their character: their quiet, yet deeply affectionate nature.
Known for their calm demeanor and independence, British shorthairs are considered less clingy than other breeds. However, they are fiercely loyal and form strong emotional bonds with their owners.
While British shorthairs are content to entertain themselves during the day, they thrive on companionship and cherish quality time with their humans.
In response to seeing Bloo’s irresistible face, @blooberrybaby captioned the video: “Of course I’ll play with you.”
It’s clear Bloo has reminded the internet of an important truth. Pets may only be part of an owner’s busy life, but for them, humans are their whole world.
