Kanye West is facing some serious allegations of sexual assault in a newly filed lawsuit from a former America’s Next Top Model contestant.
A model named Jenifer “Jenn” An claimed the rapper inappropriately touched and forcefully gagged her during a 2010 music video shoot.
The complaint, which was filed on Friday, November 22 and obtained by Page Six, accused West, 47, of assaulting An while she was on set for La Roux’s “In for the Kill” music video in New York City on September 7, 2010. West was featured on a remix of the British duo’s song.
According to the lawsuit, West arrived on set with his then-girlfriend Selita Ebanks and took control of the shoot. An claimed that West singled her out as the only Asian, and then moved her to a couch in the back of the suite. An alleged West began to choke her and then smothered her face with his hands, causing her makeup to smear.
The suit also detailed how West allegedly forced his fingers down her throat while shouting, “This is art. This is f**king art. I am like Picasso.” An claimed to have panicked during the assault, and struggled to breathe and feeling as though she briefly blacked out.
Additionally, An is suing Universal Music Group, accusing them of failing to investigate or address the incident despite West’s continued profitability. According to the outlet, she is seeking unspecified damages, citing trauma, humiliation, and emotional distress as a result of the alleged assault.
This lawsuit comes after the “Gold Digger” artist was accused of creating a “nightmare” work environment. A former employee filed a lawsuit against Ye, claiming that he was subjected to antisemitic rants and inappropriate behavior during his time working for West in 2022. In addition to the excessive workload, the accuser claimed that West held meetings in hotel rooms where he would engage in sexual relations in the adjoining room while conducting business. The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on November 14.
