Two roles, two salaries. At least, that’s what Lindsay Lohan told herself when Disney’ s then CEO asked her where her twin was. The actor recalled Michael Eisner asking her the question after she starred in the 1998 remake of the film The Parent Trap. “I was so young I don’t even know how I thought of saying that, but I’ll never forget what I said,” she recalled on Watch What Happens Live (WWHL). “I said, ‘Well, you should have paid me double, because I don’t have [a twin].’”
Directed by Nancy Meyers, The Parent Trap stars Lohan as twins Hallie and Annie. The young actor played both roles on her own, and special effects were used to make it appear she was acting opposite herself. In the film, Hallie and Annie discover that they were separated at birth when they end up at the same summer camp. At the end of the summer, they agree to swap places in an attempt to reconcile their mother (Natasha Richardson) and father (Dennis Quaid).

During her appearance on WWHL, Lohan also revealed that she wouldn’t mind appearing in a possible reboot of the film. “I mean, if Nancy Meyers was in it, yes. I would never say no to Nancy,” she declared. In 2020, Lohan found herself on videotape with Meyers, Quaid, Elaine Hendrix, and Lisa Ann Walter during the Covid-19 pandemic. The team raised funds to donate to José Andrés’ non-profit organization World Central Kitchen.
Although a new film has yet to see the light of day, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are reunited for Freakier Friday, the sequel to their 2003 Disney remake of the 1976 film, premiering in theaters on August 8, 2025.
