If you want to spend your Thanksgiving in the arena, then go ahead and take the family to see Gladiator 2, which opens in theaters this weekend.
Directed by Ridley Scott, this sequel to Scott’s popular 2000 action movie, Gladiator, brings a new cast of characters to the world of ancient Roman combat sport. Paul Mescal stars as Lucius Verus, the now-grown nephew of Roman emperor Commodus (played by Joaquin Phoenix in the original movie). Pedro Pascal stars as General Marcus Acacius, while Denzel Washington stars as Macrinus, who mentors Mescal’s character in the ways of being a gladiator.
Also starring Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, and Connie Nielsen, Gladiator 2 promises to be an action-packed, entertaining watch. That said, if you were hoping to watch Gladiator 2 at home on streaming, you’re going to have to wait.

Where to watch the Gladiator 2 movie:
Gladiator 2 will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. on Friday, November 22. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Gladiator 2 is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.
Is Gladiator 2 streaming on Netflix or Prime Video?
Gladiator 2 is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video, and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Paramount Pictures release. Almost all Paramount movies go to Paramount’s streaming platform, Paramount+, and not to Netflix.
You will be able to purchase Gladiator 2 on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Gladiator 2 on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription. If you want to watch Gladiator 2 movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Paramount+.
When will Gladiator 2 be streaming on Paramount+?
The Gladiator 2 Paramount+ streaming date has not yet been announced. Right now, the movie is only in theaters. That said, we do expect to see Gladiator 2 streaming on Paramount+ eventually, but we’re not sure when. Another recent Paramount film, Transformers One, was released in theaters on September 20; released on digital platforms one month after opening in theaters, on October 22; and began streaming on Paramount+ about two months after opening in theaters, on November 15.
If Gladiator 2 follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital around late December 2024, and streaming on Paramount+ around late January or early February 2025.
But this is all speculation. Given the hype around the movie, Paramount may opt to keep Gladiator 2 in theaters for longer. If you want to watch Gladiator 2 right away, you can catch the movie in theaters.
