SPOILER ALERT! This story contains details from the season 2 return of Silo on AppleTV+.
After what felt like an interminable wait, Silo viewers finally got to see what awaited Rebecca Ferguson‘s Juliette after she escaped her mile-deep home.
It was another mile-deep home.
Season 2 of Graham Yost‘s dystopian sci-fi drama that’s based on Hugh Howey‘s novels kicks off with a flashback to life in another silo, where residents thought they had achieved freedom by escaping the confines of their underground refuge. Instead, they were greeted with the reality they’ve long been warned about: it’s a toxic world out there, and no one can survive.
Flash forward to today, where Juliette — whom we last saw wandering the barren landscape in a tidy white space suit — gains access to a supposedly abandoned silo. Given her background in the mechanical-cum-recycling department, she’s resourceful enough to pry her way into the subterranean repository, where she breathes oxygen and finds a change of clothes.

Save a few look-backs to help establish how young Juliette first honed her fix-it skills, the episode is a slow drip that follows the show’s heroine as she tries to access a lit area that appears to be occupied.
She ends up being right, though it’s not what she expected. The episode ends with her trying to pry open another hatch, but the person on the other side warns her to stop or “I’m going to kill you.”
Silo has only been renewed through Season 2, which is made up of 10 episodes. Production wrapped earlier this year.
