Pokémon Go is throwing a ground-type event, “Simply Groundbreaking” with a heavy focus on Drilbur from Nov. 15-17.
Notably, Dynamax Drilbur makes its debut in Max Battles for this event — well-timed, as it’ll be the best counter against Gigantamax Toxtricity in the upcoming Pokémon Go Wild Area event.

If you complete this research before the event ends, you’ll get a special reward.
- Catch 5 Pokémon (Drilbur encounter)
- Catch 10 Pokémon (10 Drilbur Candy)
- Win a Max Battle (40 Drilbur Candy)
- Spin 15 PokéStops or gyms (Drilbur encounter)
- Use 15 berries to help catch Pokémon (Drilbur encounter)
Rewards: 5 Drilbur Candy XL, 5,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust

Spinning a PokéStop during the event period may yield one of these tasks:
- Catch 10 Pokémon (Drilbur encounter)
- Make 5 nice throws (5 Drilbur Candy)
- Make 5 great throws (10 Drilbur Candy)

- Whismur

* There is an “increased chance” of finding this shiny in the wild as part of the event.

The following changes to the raid schedule and Max Battle schedule will take place as part of the event:
