San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel confronted kicker Jake Moody near the sideline after missing his third field goal of the day, according to Bay Area News Group’s Cam Inman. Although tensions were evidently high, Moody made his final field goal attempt to help the 49ers clinch the 23-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Long-snapper Taybor Pepper intervened and almost got into it with Samuel. It’s evident the 49ers have reached their boiling point as the team led Tampa Bay 20-17 in the final minutes of the matchup.
San Francisco was in jeopardy of having a record below .500 with a loss to the Buccaneers. Moody certainly didn’t aid the 49ers in their efforts as he missed three field goals in his first game back from injury.
Brock Purdy engineered a last-minute drive that left the fate of the 49ers up to Moody. In the end, Moody made the 44-yard field goal that mattered most. It doesn’t quite eliminate his previous three misses, but Moody’s final field goal broke the tie with Tampa Bay and secured the win for San Francisco.
The 49ers are now 5-4 midway through the season. The nail-biting contest in many ways overshadowed the long-awaited return of star running back Christian McCaffrey. His season debut became somewhat of an afterthought following the theatrics of the Week 10 matchup.
Highlights of the game included rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall’s first touchdown of the season. Just 71 days after being shot in an attempted robbery, Pearsall opened the scoring for Sunday’s matchup in Tampa Bay.
The rookie’s 46-yard score came after he gained 31 yards following a pass from Purdy.
Additionally, the people’s tight end George Kittle finished the game with three receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown. Kittle’s score was a remarkable toe-tapping effort near the edge of the end zone.
Kittle’s crazy catch gave San Francisco a 20-17 lead. Following the score, Moody missed his third field goal of the day, which sparked a frustrating response from Samuel.
In the end, the 49ers got the job done. The San Francisco squad will have to improve in all phases of the game in order to orchestrate a few more victories in the coming weeks. The 49ers will face the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and Buffalo Bills in their next three games.
