Mario & Luigi: Brothership adds a new layer to the series’ turn-based combat with Battle Plugs, special gear that gives the bros extra abilities in the game’s battles when equipped.
Battle Plugs can be earned throughout the game, by crafting plugs using Lumenade gathered from Sprite Bulbs. Some Battle Plugs are given to Mario and Luigi as the story progresses. Each plug can be equipped in a Power Tap — a socket, basically — that expands over time. Mario and Luigi can equip only two Battle Plugs in their Power Tap at the beginning of the game, but they’ll earn additional Power Tap slots over the course of Brothership’s adventure.
Battle Plugs have limited charges, and need to be recharged. Battle Plugs will recharge when not in use.
