The weekly reset time in Destiny 2 is a little odd compared to some other live service games. Instead of having a consistent reset time, Destiny 2’s reset shifts with the yearly daylight savings changes. That means the answer to “what time is the reset this week” actually changes twice a year.
However, the weekly reset day doesn’t ever change, and is always on Tuesday. This page explains the current Destiny 2 reset time is, and what happens each reset.
When is the weekly reset time in Destiny 2?
The time change varies by an hour depending on the time of the year. Reset is always 5 p.m. UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), and with daylight savings ending for 2024, reset is currently 9 a.m. PT every Tuesday.
Here are the current weekly reset time for Destiny 2 in regions around the world:
- 9 a.m. PST for the west coast of North America
- 12 p.m. EST for the east coast of North America
- 5 p.m. GMT for the U.K.
- 6 p.m. CST for western Europe/Paris
- 2 a.m. JST on for Tokyo
Daylight Saving Time in the States will return on March 9, 2025, and Bungie will once again shift the time forward in North America.
What happens on each weekly reset in Destiny 2?
The biggest thing to look forward to with the weekly reset is new content. If new content is scheduled for that week, it always launches at reset time on Tuesday — aside from raids, which typically launch on Fridays. All you need to do is wait for reset, log in, and start on the latest quest, expansion, etc. Events like Iron Banner and holidays also show up on the weekly reset.
In addition to new content, the weekly reset also sees the rest of the game refresh. Powerful and Pinnacle loot sources get their rewards back, as do virtually all “once a week” activity rewards, like raids. Powerful sources like bounty turn-ins to Shaxx or Zavala also get renewed on the reset time. Basically, anything you did in Destiny 2 over the last week that isn’t a one-and-done — like a quest — returns to normal on Tuesday at the reset time.
Finally, rotating activities tend to shift on the weekly reset. That’s when you’ll see the featured raid and dungeon rotate. And it’s when new Grandmaster Nightfalls will replace the old ones. The Exotic mission rotator will also shift on each weekly reset. Trials of Osiris, on weekends it’s active, shows up at reset time on Fridays, as does Xur.
