According to Adam Schefter, “While Dak Prescott is expected to be sidelined for Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles, the Cowboys could be getting back DE Micah Parsons from his high ankle sprain. One source said Parsons “should be back” for Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles.”
Prescott might land on IR due to his Hamstring, but a source has indicated that Parsons is ready to return in Week 10. This would be a huge boost to a defense that is missing several star players.
Before Week 9, Parsons had offered a health update, stating that he was attempting to make it back to the lineup. Granted, he was shut down by the coaching staff and trainers, but it appeared that he was close to being able to return.
Parsons being held out while healing from his ankle sprain was the right move. He is always a very durable player, but going back before fully healthy could have made matters far worse for the dynamic edge rusher.
The Cowboys are hurting right now, dropping to 3-5 on the season after Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons. They need a big win and would be in a much better place to do so with Parsons terrorizing opposing quarterbacks.
More news: Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb Receives Massive Injury Update
Dallas is set to face the Philadelphia Eagles next, followed by the Houston Texans. Both opponents will be tough to deal with, and the Cowboys will need all hands on deck to come away with wins against both.
The Cowboys are likely to address the quarterback situation to either find a temporary starter or solid backup for Cooper Rush. They are also likely to address pass-rush help before the NFL trade deadline ends at 4 PM EST on Nov. 5.
