With just a few days left until the 2024 Presidential Election, we have seen a few athletes endorse different candidates. One of the bigger endorsements came from Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James when he took to social media to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.
“What are we even talking about here?? When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!”

After the Lakers defeated the Toronto Raptors on Friday night, James explained more about why he decided to endorse Harris.
“Well I was gonna do it the day of the game in Cleveland but I didn’t want to overshadow me and Bronny going back home. That’s when I planned on doing it, for yesterday to be a good day. Everything was kind of silent and I wanted to make sure it was seen and heard with force. So having a daughter, wife, and a mother, things of that nature, she believes in when it comes to women’s rights and so the future of my kids and where I see our country should be so I feel like that endorsement is only right. Come on guys, you know me, damn sure wasn’t going the other way.”
James has never been shy about making his opinions on different matters heard and he didn’t hold back here either. He believes that Vice President Harris is the correct person to lead the country forward and wanted to make his voice heard.
The Lakers star is in his 22nd season in the NBA but has found different ways to keep going strong. While he isn’t the same athlete that he once was, James is still one of the better players in the entire league.
He showed over the summer that he still has a lot left in the tank, helping Team USA claim the gold medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. James took home the MVP honor of the men’s basketball games, crowning him as the best player in the tournament.
The veteran is now tasked with helping the Lakers compete for another NBA title. Alongside co-star Anthony Davis, James gives the Lakers credibility on the floor in each game that he plays in.
He is averaging 22.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 0.5 blocks per game. This season may be his most challenging yet but it seems that the 20-time All-Star may not be slowing down any time soon.
