Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels executed an iconic career moment after throwing an incredible Hail Mary to steal victory from Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.
This moment stood out so much that Daniels was named NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 8.
While experts and fans will look back on this moment as the time Daniels became a superstar, the rookie out of LSU has been playing this well all season.
This ROTW win marks the sixth time Daniels has received the honor in eight weeks. This is the fastest time any player has reached six ROTW honors.
In fact, only six other players have been named ROTW six times or more: quarterback Gardner Minshew (7), quarterback Baker Mayfield (7), running back Alvin Kamara (7), quarterback Robert Griffin III (7), quarterback Justin Herbert (8), and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (9).
If Daniels continues at this rate, there’s no doubt the he could be the first player to be named ROTW 10 times.
So far this season, Daniels has led the Commanders to the top of the NFC East with a 6-2 win-loss record, which is currently the second-best record in the NFC behind the Detroit Lions (6-1).
In total, Daniels has completed 148 passes for 1,736 yards and seven touchdowns. He has also rushed for 424 yards and four touchdowns on 74 attempts.
Daniels is second in the NFL in pass completion percentage, completing 71.8 percent of his passes.

The only other players to win Rookie of the Week this season are New York Jets running back Braelon Allen and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman.
In Week 2, Allen rushed for 33 yards and one touchdown against the Tennessee Titans on seven attempts. He also made two receptions for 23 yards and one touchdown.
Meanwhile, Daniels completed 23 passes for 226 yards and rushed for 44 yards on 10 attempts in a victory against the New York Giants.
In Week 7, Coleman made four receptions for 125 yards against the Titans, including one pass for 57 yards.
In this week, Daniels left the game early after suffering a rib injury. Still, Daniels completed two passes for six yards and rushed for 50 yards on 3 attempts, including one rush for 46 yards.

Needless to say, the race for Offensive Rookie of the Year has gotten incredibly one-sided. At this point, it’s Daniels’ award to lose.
