If we get an Emily in Paris season 5…will that be enough time for this gal to learn French? The fourth season of Netflix’s frothy was released earlier this year, but she’s still nowhere close to fluent.
Okay, but seriously, fans are wondering how long the adventure is meant to last. And now we know for sure: Emily in Paris season 5 has been confirmed! Here’s everything we know so far:
C’est official! Emily in Paris season 5 is coming.
On September 16, 2024, Netflix officially announced the green light for another swath of episodes.

In a short video, series star Lily Collins revealed that the show would continue its Italian setting in the next season, cheekily teasing, “There’s no place like Rome.”
Will Emily in Paris become Emily in Rome?
“We will definitely see more Emily in Rome if we have a season 5. Emily [is now] there. There’s an office, and I think the story is taking us there for the moment. So we will spend more time in Italy, but it doesn’t mean we’re leaving Paris,” series creator Darren Star told Glamour earlier this month.
Who in the cast is coming back?
There’s no Emily in Paris without Emily, so Lily Collins is for sure coming back..

Surely part of the appeal for her is working with costar turned BFF Ashley Park. “I couldn’t love you more @ashleyparklady. I don’t know what I did to deserve a friendship and sisterhood like yours, but I’ll hold onto it for dear life,” Collins wrote of Park, who plays Emily’s roommate, Mindy, on the show. Park shared the renewal news on her Instagram Stories, pointing to a likely return.
We’re also looking forward to getting to know Genevieve, played by Thalia Besson. Though she’s framed as a sort of romantic and workplace rival to our girl Emily, she’s not really a bad guy.
“I wanted to bring in a character who Emily would, in a way, be a mentor to—Emily 2.0, like a young Emily, but also give her this sort of interesting backstory that was connected to Sylvie and her husband,” Star Glamour. In the same interview,he teased more Alfie and, stunningly, less Camille. Tres shocking!
The biggest casting bombshell has come courtesy of Lucas Bravo, who plays Gabriel on the show. While promoting a different project in October 2024, the 36-year-old gave a series of interviews lamenting the trajectory his character has taken.
“The ‘sexy chef’ was very much part of me in season 1 and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take,” Bravo told IndieWire.
Referencing creator Darren Star and the show’s writers, he added, “They made him kind of unaware of his surroundings, of the dynamic, always victimizing and always being completely lost in translation and oblivious to anything that is happening around him and being manipulated by everyone, it kind of became not fun for me to shoot or to see a character I love so much and brought me so much, being slowly turned into guacamole. I really grew apart from him.”
But what does that mean for season 5? That’s still TBD. However, Bravo did note that his contract for the show expired after season 4.
When is Emily in Paris season 5 coming out?
No word yet, but in May, Star auctioned off a small role on the fifth season. The details for this offer stipulated that filming in Paris was expected to begin in mid-2025.
