The Minnesota Vikings are all in for the 2024 season. The team is currently 5-2 and is one win away from first place in the NFC North. Now, they have shored up their offensive line by acquiring standout left tackle Cam Robinson in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Vikings just lost Christian Darrisaw for the season, and the team has now ensured they found a solid replacement.
Robinson has been one of the most solid offensive linemen in 2024. He has started all seven games with the Jaguars and has only given up two penalties in that time.
According to PFF, Robinson has given up four sacks, which is tied for ninth in the NFL. Despite what could be presumed to be a high level of sacks, Robinson is still a quality starter.
Robinson has 91 starts, and was franchise tagged by the Jaguars in the offseason. It is always a rare occurrence that any team is willing to give up an offensive lineman, especially one that is as high-level as Robinson is.
The Vikings needed an answer at left tackle with Darrisaw lost for the season, and they answered in a big way by bringing in Robinson.
David Quessenberry, Walter Rouse, and Blake Brandel are the current left tackles on the depth chart, but it would be presumed that Robinson will come in and become the starter.
NFL insider Field Yates revealed more information about the trade, indicating that the Th Jaguars are likely to have to pay some of Robinson’s $16 million price tag for 2024.
The Vikings moved quickly to fortify the left side of their line, giving urgency to the team wanting to ensure they could go on a deep playoff run. They recently lost to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8, giving up three sacks in that game.
Protecting quarterback Sam Darnold is of the utmost importance, and adding Robinson can help that fact.
The Vikings lost to the Detroit Lions in Week 7, and then the Rams in Week 8. They are currently on a two-game losing skid and are looking to rebound in a big way in Week 9. Coming up next is the Indianapolis Colts, which can be a good test.
The Vikings will then take on the Jaguars in Week 10, which could be a revenge game for Robinson. Either way, the Vikings need to put together some big wins to keep pace with the first-place Lions.
