“I’ll take you out,” Lindsay Nicole Bennie wrote in a direct message more than six years ago to Victoria Ashley Williams after Ms. Williams tweeted about wanting a woman to be her Valentine.
But the two soon discovered they lived in different cities — Ms. Bennie in Atlanta and Ms. Williams in Miami — putting an end to the conversation.
In May, Ms. Bennie messaged Ms. Williams about an EDM festival happening in Orlando, Fla., igniting a second exchange.
At the time, Ms. Williams had never dated a woman, but the spark she felt with Ms. Bennie was instant. The two texted and had daily FaceTime calls for several weeks; in June 2018, Ms. Williams booked a flight to meet Ms. Bennie in person.
They settled on Hole in the Wall, a bar in Atlanta, for their first in-person meeting. Each brought a group of friends. Ms. Williams explained they “were nervous that we wouldn’t like each other in person,” but said they “quickly worked to ditch” the friends.
“Our connection was instantaneous,” Ms. Bennie added.
That October, Ms. Williams came out as a lesbian, and asked Ms. Bennie to be her girlfriend. “When we met, I knew that Lindsay would be my endgame, so I decided that I would come out to my family and friends,” Ms. Williams said.

The couple embarked on a journey that they frequently shared with their social media followers. Between YouTube (@victorialindsay2012), Instagram (@vickto_willy and @benniebaby_) and TikTok (@benniebaby_ and @vickto_willy), the couple have around 2.5 million followers.
Their shared and individual content ranges from vlogs and Q&As, and often showcases milestones of their relationship. After a year of dating, they moved in together: first to Ms. Bennie’s parent’s house in Suwanee, Ga., and later into their own apartment in Sandy Springs, Ga. “The move was as easy as the love,” Ms. Williams said. “Our rhythms matched and energies blended.”
In 2022, the couple bought a house together in Atlanta, where they still live.
Ms. Bennie, 30, is an independent personal trainer and clinical research associate in psychiatric drug trials. She grew up in Johns Creek, Ga., and graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Ms. Williams, also 30, grew up in Miami and graduated from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences. She works as a full-time content creator.
In October 2022, Ms. Bennie asked Ms. Williams to marry her while on vacation in Los Cabos, Mexico. The following April, Ms. Williams proposed to Ms. Bennie with a short animated film of their love story, projected onto the living room wall of their new house.
On their sixth anniversary, the couple was married in front of 100 guests on Oct. 12 at the Glass Venue in Miami. Alex Rooney, a friend of the couple who was ordained by the Universal Life Church, officiated.
The couple decided to abandon tradition and meet each other at the middle of the aisle. “We both equally have always wanted to be the one to walk down the aisle, so when I first suggested walking toward each other and meeting in the middle, we both got excited,” Ms. Williams said.
“I couldn’t wait to see my wife on the other end,” Ms. Bennie said.
