Nickelodeon dropped a first-look clip of its upcoming SpongeBob Squarepants‘ 25th anniversary stop-motion special SpongeBob & Sandy’s Country Christmas set for premiere in December on Nick and Paramount+. The clip was revealed Friday during Nick’s panel at New York Comic Con.
In the half-hour special, when one of Sandy’s experiments goes awry, the Cheeks family team up to save Christmas in Bikini Bottom.
The special features Craig Robinson as Pa Cheeks, Johnny Knoxville as Randy Cheeks, and Grey Delisle as Ma Cheeks, Granny Cheeks, Rosie and Rowdy reprising their roles as Sandy Cheek’s family from the recently released movie Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie.
During the panel, Nick also announced the two-season renewal of SpongeBob Squarepants‘ spinoff The Patrick Star Show for seasons 4 and 5. The network also shared a ·clip reveal from the upcoming half-hour 25th anniversary special, SpongeBob SquarePants, Snow Yellow, slated to debut in November on Nickelodeon. In the special, when Snow Yellow is deemed the “squarest of them all,” the evil Queen Karen seeks to claim the title for herself by any means necessary.

SpongeBob SquarePants voice cast members include Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks) and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton).
SpongeBob SquarePants has reigned as the most-watched animated series since its launch on July 17, 1999, spawning a global franchise that includes spinoff series on Paramount+, theatrical movies, consumer products and a Tony-winning Broadway musical. It was recently renewed for its 15th season.
SpongeBob SquarePants was created by the late Stephen Hillenburg and is produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank. The character-driven cartoon chronicles the nautical and sometimes nonsensical adventures of SpongeBob, an incurable optimist and earnest sea sponge, and his undersea friends.
Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller are executive producers of SpongeBob SquarePants and offshoots, The Patrick Star Show and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years. Production is overseen by Nickelodeon’s Claudia Spinelli, SVP Animation for Big Kids, and Kelley Gardner, VP Current Series, Animation.
