Frances Bean Cobain and Riley Hawk have been keeping mum lately, as they are enjoying time with their baby son. But a month after his birth, Riley has shared a new photo of the boy with fans on social media.
Frances, 32, and Riley, also 32, welcomed their son — Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk — on September 17. Hawk took to his Instagram Story on Wednesday, October 16, to share a photo of baby Ronin. Though Ronin’s face isn’t visible in the photo, we see his hands, legs, and feet, as he is wearing a blue onesie that reads “Baker Skateboards.”
Riley, who is the son of pro skateboarder Tony Hawk, joined the Baker Skateboards team — a collective of professional skateboarders — back in 2012, after a stint with his father’s skateboarding company, Birdhouse. In addition to being a pro skateboarding team, Baker Skateboards — which was founded in 2000 by professional skateboarder Andrew Reynolds — also specializes in skateboard decks, wheels, and other accessories.
And with Ronin’s adorable outfit, it looks like Riley is passing on his love of skateboarding to the next generation.
Both Riley and Frances tend to lay low, especially as both of their parents are and were big stars. Frances is the daughter of Courtney Love and the late Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain.
Though Kurt died in 1994, when Frances was only two years old, she’s carried his memory with her in her heart and credits him for her love and passion for life.
“The duality of life & death, pain & joy, yin & yang, need to exist along side each other or none of this would have any meaning,” Frances wrote in an April Instagram post on the 30th anniversary of Kurt’s death. “It is the impermanent nature of human existence which throws us into the depths of our most authentic lives. As It turns out, there is no greater motivation for leaning into loving awareness than knowing everything ends.”
