EXCLUSIVE: UCP is making changes to its current department.
Rebecca Franko has been promoted to EVP and Head of Current Series at the NBCUniversal-owned studio. Franko was previously SVP, Current Programming, having joined in 2022.
She will oversee day-to-day operations for the studio’s slate of programming and will also start supporting select projects from Universal International Studios and series streaming on Peacock.
She reports to Beatrice Springborn, President of UCP and UIS. Kenny Tsai, who joined UCP at the same time as Franko as SVP, Current Programming continues in that role.

Franko will work with UCP’s roster including Patrick Macmanus, Nick Antosca and Sue Naegle, and serving as a liaison between production and other departments.
UCP’s slate includes horror series Teacup, from exec producer James Wan and starring Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman and Chaske Spencer, which launches on Peacock on October 10, as well as Suits L.A., Ted and upcoming projects including Hysteria! and The ‘Burbs.
The first UIS project Franko and her team will support is All Her Fault, starring Sarah Snook.
