Chicago Bears No. 1 overall pick and star quarterback Caleb Williams had himself a day. Williams earned his third NFL win on Sunday over the Carolina Panthers, 36-10.
The defense was fantastic, allowing less than 300 total yards and committing three turnovers. The offense led by Williams was off the chart. The Bears totaled 424 tards, committed zero turnovers, and controlled the time of possession, having the ball for 33:48.
Williams had his best game as a pro; however, it didn’t come without any minor hiccups. The 22-year-old got into the celebrations on one of the many touchdowns scored on Sunday; however, it didn’t go as planned.
Williams got a little too excited and accidentally spiked himself while celebrating.
The internet poked fun at Williams in the process.
It happens to the best of them! Caleb spiking himself is just one of those moments you have to laugh off.

Williams was a man on a mission on Sunday, completing 20 of his 29 passes for 304 yards, two touchdowns, and a 126.2 passer rating, a new career-high.
The Bears wanted a faster start to the game, and that’s what happened. After scoring just 13 points in the first half, the Bears’ first possession was balanced for a 70-yard drive that ended with Williams finding star wide receiver DJ Moore for the first of many touchdowns.
Overall, Williams took advantage of the banged-up Panthers’ defense. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Southern California might have played for the Panthers instead of the Bears if not for that trade in 2023.
Carolina sent Moore and the No. 9 overall pick to Chcioa for the top selection in the draft that year. The Bears also go the Panthers 2024 first-rounder that wound up being the No. 1 overall pick.
Now, instead of the Panthers having Williams or Moore, they had a world of trouble against them. Moore has his best game of the year, recording five receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns.
Williams will now look to carry that momentum into the following week when his team takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday in London. It will be the Bears’ first trip to London since 2019.
They faced the Raiders, and it was not a pretty outing. The team started flat, falling behind 17-0, and ultimately lost the game 24-21. They’ll look for another fast start similar to today’s and move a step closer to a postseason spot.
The Bears’ checklist for next week is simple: get to London safely, get a win, and make sure that Williams doesn’t hurt himself again if he attempts another spike.
