In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Chevrolet is partnering with the American Cancer Society to support the ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ initiative. As part of this collaboration, Chevrolet will debut a pink Camaro SS as the official pace car for NASCAR races throughout the month, helping to raise awareness and drive support for the cause.
As part of its dedication to raising awareness and supporting those affected by breast cancer, Chevrolet will also offer unforgettable experiences for survivors and caregivers at every race event. These special guests are given the opportunity to enjoy unique, behind-the-scenes moments, reflecting Chevrolet’s ongoing commitment to this important cause.
Chevrolet further underscores its dedication to the NASCAR initiative by committing financial support as part of the campaign. For every caution lap completed during the race, the American automaker pledges to donate $350 to the ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ initiative, with a maximum contribution of $50,000, ensuring that every moment on track contributes to a meaningful cause.
Chevrolet’s Motorsports Strategic Planning and Operations Manager, Alyssa Haba, expressed that it was an honor to support the initiative in the fight against breast cancer. She said in a statement:
“We are proud to continue our partnership with the American Cancer Society and carry the ACS logo on the pace car during the month of October.
“It is always an honor to be able to utilize our platform in motorsports to support the initiative and continue to play a role in the fight against breast cancer.”
In 2023, Chevrolet’s program contributed $40,250, generated by 115 caution laps. After its debut at Talladega, the iconic pink Chevrolet Camaros will take to the track again at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
