CBS News has reportedly hired former Good Morning America meteorologist Rob Marciano, who was reportedly fired from ABC earlier this year following a spate of “alarming events” tied to his “hot temper.”
Oliver Darcyâs Status newsletter reports Marciano has been hired to join the CBS’ expanding weather network. He reportedly kept in touch with former ABC News exec Wendy Fisher, who is now running the weather operation at CBS News.
Marciano’s comeback comes just months after he was fired from ABC in April due to his alleged behavior and “anger management issues.”
A report from The Daily Beast alleged that Marciano was let go from Good Morning America after he got into a âheated screaming matchâ with one of the showâs producers.
An inside source claimed meteorologist Ginger Zee escalated the incident to their higher-ups, who considered it “the last straw” after Marciano reportedly had “a number of alarming events” that concerned his colleagues at ABC.
He was also “banned” from the GMA studio in 2023 after colleagues allegedly complained about his behavior. âHe was found to have done something ⦠that was improper, but he was punished for it, and they still havenât let him return,â an insider claimed to Page Six at the time.
A second source claimed Marciano “was pulled off” the network to “deal with” his sometimes unsavory behavior.
Marciano also reportedly feuded with Zee behind the scenes. âI think she brought out the worst in him. Iâm not giving him a pass,â a source told The New York Post. âItâs sad because they are two people who are really into the science of the weather. Unfortunately, their personalities didnât work.â
He celebrated 10 years on the network in September 2023 with a message to viewers on social media.
âI couldnât be more pumped to continue this journey with all of you,â he wrote. âI always dreamed of working for this network as a kid.”
For now, it remains unclear when Marciano will make his debut on CBS.
