Anna Delvey said what she said on Dancing with the Stars — and meant it.
For those who did not tune in to last Tuesday night’s (Sept. 24) episode, Delvey and Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Tori Spelling both bid farewell to the show after being voted off. Asked what she would be taking away from her experience on the show, Delvey simply replied, “Nothing.”
Following their departures from the dance floor, the two sat down on Spelling’s misSPELLING podcast to hash out the convicted con artist’s rather rough response, which she deemed “the truth,” per People.
“You guys told me what I’m supposed to do,” she claimed. “I tried to do it, and then I still was rejected. And, I’m taking away nothing. This is what I’m taking away from it, because your advice was worthless.”
She argued that “the advice did not pay off” for her, despite “tr[ying] to follow it.”
“People were trying to interpret my answer in different ways, but no, not really,” she added. “I really did not take much away from this experience.”

Delvey thought she “had to be on the defensive, especially after all the backlash that [she] received being cast on the show, even though the producers [tried] to defend [her],” per People. However, she felt that “everyone on the cast was generally nice” to her.
While she claimed that “it felt a little bit embarrassing to be voted off before some of the other people on the show,” she noted that she “never had high expectations” for herself.
Delvey’s DWTS casting garnered pushback from many, including The View‘s co-anchors and series alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the latter of whom ripped her as a “shitty dancer.” Judge Carrie Ann Inaba even urged viewers to give the maligned figure “a chance” during the show’s Season 33 premiere.
Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
