The Justice Department unsealed an indictment Friday against three members of an Iranian paramilitary group for hacking Trump campaign staff and leaking sensitive information to the campaign of Kamala Harris.
Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members Masoud Jalili, Seyyed Ali Aghamiri and Yasar Balaghi were charged for the “wide-ranging hacking campaign” that involved members of both presidential campaigns, current and former US government officials, journalists and others.
According to the 37-page indictment, the hackers sent out phishing emails and use other social engineering to compromise their victims’ accounts and eventually gain influence to a member of the Trump campaign.
