The New York Giants fell to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football with a final score of 20-15. Despite the loss, star rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers put together a spectacular performance that included 12 receptions for 115 yards.

The Cowboys’ secondary had problems with Nabers the entire game. However, the rookie had to exit the game in the fourth quarter after making a diving catch and hitting his head hard on the turf.
After the brutal shot to the head, Nabers exited the game and was ruled to have a concussion. He was initially slow to get up, and many believed that he had knocked himself out. However, that was never confirmed.
The Giants’ receiver will now have to enter concussion protocol and could likely be out for more than one game. After the injury, Nabers took to social media to let fans know that he is OK.
A screenshot from Nabers’ Instagram story showcased the receiver and a caption that read, “All good, thanks for all the prayers!!!”
Head injuries can certainly be concerning, and it appears that Nabers is doing fine after taking such a big shot to his head. The good news is the Giants playing on Thursday Night Football means they now have 10 days between that game and their next contest.
The Giants will take on the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 6, meaning Nabers has more than a week to successfully move through concussion protocol so that he may suit up in Week 5. However, he could also be withheld from the game if his symptoms get worse through the course of the next few days to a week.
Losing Nabers would be detrimental to the Giant offense, as he and Daniel Jones have been linking up plenty in the first four weeks of action. After a decent Week 1 outing that included seven receptions for 66 yards, Nabers has produced even more each week.

Nabers secured 18 receptions for 127 yards and one touchdown in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders, 12 receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns, and the 115-yard game against the Cowboys on Thursday.
It is clear that Nabers has become one of the favorite targets for Jones. Hopefully, he will not have to be out for too long. If he does happen to miss Week 5, the Giants will lean on Darius Slayton and Wan’Dale Robinson. Robinson has also become a respectable target for Jones, securing 26 receptions, 194 yards, and one touchdown in four games.
