Let this be a lesson to everyone: Think before you tweet. Country music star Zach Bryan came for Taylor Swift in a tweet and I bet you can guess what happened next. That’s right, he immediately deleted his whole Twitter account and posted a lengthy apology to his Instagram Stories the following day.
In his original tweet on September 17, Bryan wrote, “Eagles > Chiefs, Kanye > Taylor. Who’s with me?” Swifties mobilized immediately in calling the country singer out, leading to him eventually disabling his account.

In response to the backlash, Bryan took to his IG stories on September 19 to explain himself. “For the record guys, I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night,” Bryan wrote, including Swift’s “Fortnite” in the post. Bryan said he was simply comparing two albums and it “came out wrong.”
In a second slide, Bryan added that he is “going through a hard time” and was probably projecting, adding that he has a lot of respect for Swift as an artist. “Don’t drink and tweet,” he concluded the second post. He then reiterated these points in two additional posts, resolving to “take a breather from tweeting stupid stuff.”
But that didn’t stop Swifties for coming for Bryan in the comments of another Instagram post, writing things like, “Taylor Swift > Zach Bryan,” and, “Taylor lives rent free in every man’s head.”
I think it’s safe to say Zach Bryan will probably think twice before he takes a swipe at Taylor Swift again.
